Sourcing of assigned raw materials and additives for Engineered Materials India including strategy development and alignment with business, supply market analysis, new vendor development, contract negotiation, strategic supplier relationship management to obtain and maintain competitive cost advantage, ensure high reliability of supply to meet requirements of the business. THis is for the engineering plastics compounding business,
Support EM India business plan and drive sourcing plan accordingly. Consistently maintain supply reliability, quality while ensuring best in class procurement costs
Work with Business team proactively, liaise with them to determine their product and service needs, support business growth which includes but not limited to find alternative sources, identify new products for replacement and keep driving for improved supplier services. Work with functional team to ensure smooth operations.
Reinforce and comply with the company procurement policy and drive the best practice – including tools utilization, suppliers management & selection, pricing, negotiation and control systems
Negotiate with suppliers for optimal terms, ensure all purchases are in compliance with related governance, manage contracts and agreements.
Evaluate current suppliers and develop new suppliers based on quality, service, reliability, total cost and value as well as suppliers’ reputation and background.
Prepare rolling forecasts of raw material prices to support business decisions and opportunities, place orders appropriately and close follow up to ensure reliable supply
Solid experience in buying engineering plastic raw materials - prime resins, additives, recycled materials. Someone with engg plastics background will be preferred
Strong commercial acumen, knowledge about how to get to the market;
Extensive experience of negotiating and contracting with international traders/producers as well as local smaller recycling traders
Excellent ability to understand the dynamics of engineering materials industry/market and to be able to “see around corners”
Strong capability of communication, which would help on alignment with business line and senior management on sourcing strategy and ability to assess the needs of a business
Good self-motivation skills and initiative
Strong communication skills: written and verbal
Good business acumen
Has broad knowledge and perspective of the region/industry and anticipate future trends or consequences accurately.
Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations both internally and externally.

Required Education: Bachelors degree, ideally with an MBA
