1) Develop or optimize standardized work processes for Raw Material Management, collect/update/maintain Raw Material data in SAP, document RM files for the APAC region, and communicate Raw Material info or change to relevant stakeholders internally and externally
2) Provide regional support on certain business lines, particularly in applications such as Food, Cosmetics, Medical/Drug, etc. and handle relevant registrations
3) Lead or support PS global/regional projects and business projects as well to ensure regulatory compliance and business continuity
4) Track and monitor chemical regulations in APAC, evaluate/address the impact on products/businesses, and deliver regulatory trainings to relevant stakeholders whenever necessary, as well as orientation training to new employees
5) Compile Regulatory Newsletters on hot topics in APAC and provide such to key stakeholders on a regular basis
6) Participate in the industry associations’ activities for advocacy on product safety regulations and standards
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1) More than 6 years’ experience in chemical industry in roles that involve Chemical Management, Product Safety, Product Stewardship and/or Regulatory Affairs
2) Fluent in English (speaking, listening and writing)
3) Prior employment with an MNC in a role pertaining to Chemical Management, Product Safety, Product Stewardship and/or Regulatory Affairs
4) Background in chemistry, polymer material, environmental, EHS or Chemical Management
5) Familiarity with applicable industry, local or regional specific product safety regulations or standards and best practices for Chemical Management, Product Safety, Product Stewardship and/or Regulatory Affairs
6) Bachelor degree or above, chemistry-related (e.g. chemical engineering, polymer materials science and engineering, environmental engineering and science, etc.)
Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1) Product safety regulations and standards in APAC, including China, Taiwan area, Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand but not limited to these countries/areas
2) Familiar with Hazcom regulations (i.e. chemicals classification, labeling and SDS), registration/notification/reporting of chemicals under the new chemical laws, REACH-like regulations, and regulations for food/food contact, medical/drug and cosmetics, etc.
3) Experience in interacting with governmental authorities on Chemical Management, Product Safety, Product Stewardship and/or Regulatory Affairs
4) Good coordination, communication and problem-solving skills and good computer skills
5) Self-motivated, reliable, ability to learn, adaptive skills and teamwork spirit
6) SAP knowledge and skills pertaining to PS
7) Experience working with global teams and representing APAC
