• Oversee and monitor Japan&Korea customs/international trade regulation changes and analysis impact to business and apply applicable regulations
• Provide professional training to internal stakeholders
• Execution of Trade Compliance internal control, establish process for assessing risks and exposure, drive necessary controls
• Manage Japan/Korea Customs audits/investigation/queries, acting as focal point to local Customs/METI to resolve issues.
• Carry out sample audits to all import/export transactions, generate reports to relevant functions for alignment on root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Initiate business model review and drive for efficiency and cost saving opportunity
• Manage and maintain Customs AEO programm in Japan/Korea
•Manage duty optimization projects, i.e. Free Trade Agreements, Duty Drawback and duty-avoidance. Support bonded operations customs formalities, Work closely with external suppliers, supply chain teams, Customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely import/export execution.
• Other projects or ad-hoc issue resolvement assigned by Manager
Required Yrs Exp: Minimum 5-8 years working experience in International Customs and Trade Compliance area. MNC, law firm or big 4 is a plus
Required Education: Bachelor degree or above
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
•Good written and oral communication skills of English
• Expert level in Customs and trade compliance, including classification/valuation/FTA/RoO and etc.
•Strong logical thinking with Troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
• Good team player with ability to build effective working relationships, also independent to handle stressful situations internally & externally
•Quick learner with proactive minded, aptitude to cope with changes
•Be detail oriented and make thoughtful and timely decisions
