The Production Scheduler is responsible for using the master production plan to create an optimal, short-term production schedule that is handed off to manufacturing for execution. This role will work closely with Master Production Scheduler, Raw Material Planner and Manufacturing to meet desired business objectives.
• Convert the weekly level master production plan into daily production schedule and optimize the production sequence to meet defined objectives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize the schedule, handle execution level changes, and align on future maintenance plan / calendars and specific manufacturing requirements
• Collaborate with MPS to mitigate any unplanned plant interruptions or to handle rush supply requests
• Collaborate with planner roles when issues arise that affect the S&OP horizon
• Analyze scheduling metrics, conduct root cause analysis and report schedule performance.
• Collaborate with toller production scheduler to finalize production dates
• Review stock transfer requisitions and generate stock transfer orders to position products across multiple locations (warehouses, tolling plants) and monitor stock transfer movement
Analyze forecasts, lead times, safety stock, inventory discrepancy and other material master data as needed for assigned raw and packaging materials
• Track and analyze Consumption patterns and purchasing trends to optimize inventory levels and costs associated
• Plan and ensure timely availability of raw and packaging materials for production to meet customer demand in short term
• Create purchase requisitions for raw / packaging materials, tolled / sub – contract materials and other consumables
