Senior Specialist, IT Application Solutions – Full Stack Developer for Research/Laboratory Applications

About the Role:

We are looking for a full stack developer, with ASP.NET MVC and complex SQL Server database and SSRS report development experience. This is a hands-on role with opportunity for technical growth. You will own end-to-end feature and capability development for custom applications that directly support the workflow of our research laboratories.  You’ll work closely with our Application owners and subject matter experts in the business, along with our IT Business Relationship Managers in a highly collaborative, fast moving environment where iteration speed and execution matter. This role requires a build mindset, someone who thrives on solving tough problems, shipping quickly, and taking ownership of key technical initiatives across both the front end and backend.  The ideal candidate is eager to learn and is passionate about building scalable and efficient applications.

1. Develop and maintain web applications using ASP.NET MVC, DevExpress extensions, and C#.
2. Design and implement database schemas and write optimized SQL queries. Resolve performance bottlenecks.
3. Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, addressing application-related queries and troubleshooting issues
4. Engage in ongoing improvements by collecting customer feedback and turning insights into actionable development changes
5. Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, addressing application-related queries and troubleshooting issues. Investigate, present, and implement solutions that solve complex application problems.
6. Stay current with emerging trends in full stack engineering and data platforms and provide recommendations / plan for solution uplifts / removing technical debt.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• ASP.NET MVC: Strong grasp of the Model-View-Controller architecture for building scalable web apps.
• DevExpress MVC Components: Experience with DevExpress UI controls like Data Grid, Pivot Grid, Xtra Reports and other server-side extensions.
• .NET Framework: Proficiency in C# and .NET libraries for backend logic.
• SQL Server: Writing complex queries, stored procedures, and optimizing database performance.
• SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services): Designing and deploying reports.
• JavaScript, jQuery, HTML/CSS: For UI enhancements and client-side scripting.
• Entity Framework / LINQ: ORM tools for data access and manipulation.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to understand and write code documentation that conveys your solution to other developers
• Ability to trouble shoot and optimize applications for security and responsiveness
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to nontechnical users and support stakeholder engagement.
• Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication and collaboration skills.
• Solid Understanding of DevOps processes and pipelines using Azure DevOps (git)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 5–7 years of full stack development experience in both frontend and backend environments
• Certifications in Microsoft technologies are a plus.
